HESPIE Advising & Provisional Admission
Advising & Academic Director
Mentoring and advisement is an essential part of the program. Students meet with faculty and the program director to ensure that educational goals are being met. All students, current and prospective, are urged to consult with Sarah Mohl, HESPIE Program Director, via email HESPIE@umd.edu.
Qualified applicants receive provisional admission as non-degree seeking undergraduates and are coded with specific major code information. A registration block is placed on the student account and removed when provisionally-admitted HESPIE students complete mandatory academic advising. In addition, newly admitted students must fulfill UMD’s health requirement.
Mandatory Academic Advising
Newly admitted HESPIE students must attend an advising session. Students have an advising block which prevents registration until this requirement is fulfilled. To schedule an advising appointment, please contact Sarah Mohl, HESPIE Program Director, via email HESPIE@umd.edu.
