MPS in Corporate Innovation

The Master of Professional Studies in Corporate Innovation unites academic insights with new venture skills and resources to empower you to create, launch, and lead innovations within established companies and large organizations. The Master of Professional Studies in Corporate Innovation (MPS-CI) prepares graduates to apply newly gained insights and acquired competencies to real-world innovation management challenges, enabling students to navigate the innovation value chain from idea generation to product development and commercialization. MPS-CI’s curriculum delivers an incubator experience grounded in sound theory and rigorous analysis associated with high quality graduate education. The program offers a continuum of new venture creation within established companies and large organizations, including iterating ideas, testing business models, and launching high-potential ventures. Instruction is provided by UMD faculty and experts in the field.

MPS-CI is offered through UMD’s online learning environment, using a 12-week calendar format which benefits working professionals with flexibility, convenience, and accessibility. The 30-credit, 10-course graduate program that may be completed in 15 months while minimally disrupting personal and professional life. In a 12-week term, students complete course work (6 credits) in 11 weeks; week 12 is reserved for finals.

Students should visit Calendars & Deadlines to determine term schedule start and end dates as well as deadlines for cancellation or withdrawal. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to maintain good academic progress for graduation. Students are responsible for keeping track of their progress and should review their academic record to ensure accuracy.

MPS-CI is offered through the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech) in the A. James Clark School of Engineering.
