MPS in Technology Entrepreneurship

Google. Under Armour. Sirius XM Radio. Polycom. Squarespace. Launching a new venture takes more than a great idea. It takes the know-how to run the gauntlet of getting that idea off the ground. In the Master of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship (MPS-Technology Entrepreneurship), you’ll gain the insights and competencies to meet those challenges head on.

MPS-Technology Entrepreneurship pairs an enriching academic experience with the skills and relationships of UMD’s world-class startup incubators. In this program, students apply newly gained insights and acquired competencies to real-world innovation management challenges across five major stages of the innovation value chain—from strategy development and idea generation to commercial concept and product development and successful market establishment, as well as sustainable growth in various contexts. MPS-Technology Entrepreneurship equips students with a practical understanding of the principles and techniques for effective new venture creation and launch.

MPS-Technology Entrepreneurship is a 30-credit graduate program designed to be completed in as little as 15 months while minimally disrupting personal and professional life. The program features online instruction, offering flexibility and accessibility that fits in with personal and professional responsibilities. UMD’s online learning environment delivers online content through easy to use web-based technology that enables learning in an engaging, interactive environment. Instruction is provided by UMD faculty and experts in the field. MPS-Technology Entrepreneurship uses the term academic calendar: in a 12-week term, students complete course work in 11 weeks; week 12 is reserved for finals.
