Program Package Fees 2017

Residential Course Package Fee: $2,600: The residential course package fee is composed of the following:

  • Course tuition: $704
  • Campus Student Services fee: $159
    • Covers campus facilities use and maintenance; health services; campus-wide technology services; student registration services; shuttle bus; libraries; police; computer labs, Writing language labs; and disability support services.
  • Residential program fee: $1,737
    • Covers course activities; afternoon workshops; social activities; 12 nights lodging (single, double, triple or quad) in an air-conditioned residence hall (arrival July 16, check-out July 28 by 6 p.m.); mentor supervision; and meals (12 breakfasts, 11 lunches, and 12 dinners). Please note: Residential students are responsible for 1 weekend lunch.

Commuter Course Package Fee: $1,760: The commuter course package fee is composed of the following:

  • Course tuition: $704
  • Campus Student Services fee: $159
    • Covers campus facilities use and maintenance; health services; campus-wide technology services; student registration services; shuttle bus; libraries; police; computer labs, Writing language labs; and disability support services.
  • Commuter program fee: $897
    • Covers course activities; afternoon workshops; mentor supervision; and 10 weekday lunches (July 17 – 28).

Non-refundable Application Fee: $ 75

Course Fees: The following course in Terp Discovery charges an additional fee. Complete information regarding this additional fee is noted within the course description.

  • EXST014: Discovering Architecture, Supply Fee: $ 80

Scholarships

Terp Discovery offers a limited number of need-based financial scholarships. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis, based on funding availability. Awards do not cover 100% of the program’s costs. In addition, students who received an award in a previous year are not eligible for subsequent years. For consideration, scholarship applications must be received by April 1. To access the online scholarship application, click here. Scholarship awards will be determined in this manner:

  • Student acceptance into Terp Discovery.
  • Submission of complete scholarship application. Incomplete scholarship applications will not be considered.
  • Student grades.
  • Merit of scholarship application – i.e., based on information contained within the scholarship application.
  • Availability of scholarship.

Tuition & Fee Note

Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes in tuition, fees, and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Although changes in tuition, fees, and charges ordinarily will be announced in advance, the University reserves the right to make such changes without prior announcement.
