Program Package Fees 2020

$ 4,000: Residential Package Fee (composed of the following):

  • Course Tuition: $ x,xxx
    Tuition charged at the approved per credit rate of $ xxx x 3 credits.
  • Campus Student Services Fee: $ xxx
    Covers campus facilities use; health services; campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center; shuttle bus; libraries; police; computer labs, Writing language labs; and accessibility and disability service.
  • Residential Program Fee: $ x,xxx
    Covers activities, workshops, and events; 19 nights lodging (single, double, triple); and all meals (19 breakfasts, 21 lunches, and 19 dinners).

$ 2,750: Commuter Package Fee (composed of the following):

    Tuition charged at the approved Summer Session per credit rate of $ xxx x 3 credits.
  • Campus Student Services Fee: $ xxx
    Covers campus facilities use; health services; campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center; shuttle bus; libraries; police; computer labs, Writing language labs; and accessibility and disability service.
  • Commuter Program Fee: $ x,xxx
    Covers activities, workshops, and events; and 15 weekday lunches.

$ 4,200: International Residential Package Fee (composed of the following):

    Covers campus facilities use; health services; campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center; shuttle bus; libraries; police; computer labs, Writing language labs; and accessibility and disability service.
  • International Residential Program Fee: $ x,xxx
    Covers activities, workshops, and events; 19 nights lodging (single, double, triple); and all meals (19 breakfasts, 21 lunches, and 19 dinners); a linen package (one fitted and one top sheet for a twin-size bed, one blanket, one pillowcase, two towels, and one washcloth), and a mailing fee. 

Other Fees

Course Fees: Several courses in Terp Scholars charge an additional fee. Complete information regarding this additional fee is noted within the course description.

  • ARCH 150 Supply Fee: $110
  • BIOE 160 Lab Fee: $90

Tuition Remission

Courses in Terp Scholars are eligible for tuition remission. Tuition remission only applies to tuition and does not cover student services fees, program fees (commuter or residential), or course-related fees. Dependents of University System employees must use their student’s SSN on the Terp Scholars application as the system only recognize dependents through the SSN. University of Maryland System employees must receive authorization from their home institution. Additional information on tuition remission can be found on the University Human Resources website

Scholarships

Terp Young Scholars offers a limited number of partial financial scholarships. Awards are competitive and based on funding availability. Awards will not exceed 40% of the program package fee. Students who received an award in a previous year are not eligible for subsequent years.

Before Applying for a Terp Scholars Scholarship:

The Terp Scholars program application and Terp Scholars scholarship application are separate. Students must first apply and receive acceptance to Terp Scholars before applying for a scholarship. Incomplete scholarship applications, or scholarship applications from students not accepted to Terp Scholars, will not be reviewed.

Scholarship Components

A complete scholarship application includes:

  1. Online scholarship application form,
  2. ID # (UID) to verify student has received admission into Terp Scholars (UID # can be found at the top right corner of the Terp Scholars acceptance letter),
  3. Federal Income Tax Return, and
  4. Personal Statement

Scholarship Application

The Terp Scholars scholarship application will open in February.

Scholarship Deadlines

  • Priority Deadline - Scholarship applications submitted by April 1 receive priority consideration. Scholarship decisions for applications submitted by April 1 will be notified by April 20.
  • Final Deadline - The final deadline to submit a scholarship application is May 1. Scholarship decisions for applications submitted by May 1 will be notified by May 20.

Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes in tuition, fees, and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Although changes in tuition, fees, and charges ordinarily will be announced in advance, the University reserves the right to make such changes without prior announcement.
