Tuition & Fees
Post-Baccalaureate Programs use the semester academic calendar with classes held in fall and spring semester (16 weeks each) and Summer Session (two 6-week sessions). The academic year (AY) runs from fall semester through the following summer term.

Charged at the University-approved program rate to program-admitted students. Pertains to course sections as follows:

Campus Undergraduate Student Services Fees
- Fall or Spring (16-Week) Semester: Assessed to students based on the number of registered credits for a given semester for programs held on campus. For a breakdown of fees, see Student Financial Services-Tuition and Fees.
- Summer Session: Assessed one-time for course registration within each of the two six-week sessions (I or II). Applies to course registration that requires a student to come to the UMD campus. Supports campus-wide university, technology, and student services.
Distance Learning Student Services Fee
Assessed each semester/term of registration. Charged for any course registration held online or those which do not meet at the UMD campus. Supports campus-wide technology and student services. Students who register for online/off-site courses have access to UMD Online Resources.
Other UMD Fees
- Course Fees: In addition to tuition, some courses charge an additional fee—lab, studio, or materials. Course fees should be noted on Testudo and may run $40 to $60 per course. The fee will post to the student account as a separate charge.
- Late Registration Fee: $20.00. Charged to any student who registers for their first class on or after the first day of the semester/term.
Tuition & Fees Note
Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes in tuition, fees, and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Although changes in tuition, fees, and charges ordinarily will be announced in advance, the University reserves the right to make such changes without prior announcement.
