Summer Term offers more than 1,700 undergraduate and graduate courses and workshops to current University of Maryland students and students of other colleges and universities, international students, high school students, professionals, and life-long learners. Classes offered morning, afternoon, evening, and online. With more than six sessions offered, choose the one that best fits your summer schedule!

If you are currently not a student at the University of Maryland College Park but are interested in registering for Summer Term, you must first apply.

TIMELINE

Current Maryland students and students who apply and receive notification of their acceptance for the Summer Term may register for courses. Summer Term’s payment policy does not follow the standard fall/spring semester plan. Below is a timeline of when payment for Summer Term registration is due.

Registration Date           Payment Due Date
February 21–March 25       April 20 4:30 p.m.
On or after March 26         Immediately upon registration

If payment does not successfully post, you will be canceled for non-payment and blocked from future registration. For complete information on Summer Term’s payment policy, click here.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Online registration for Summer Term requires that you are attending Maryland in the current spring semester or have accepted admission to the University for the upcoming fall semester. If not, then you are not a current student and you must apply.

  • Visit MyUM
  • Log in with your Directory ID and password (If you don't know this, click on the link Discover It Here).
  • Click on Academics & Testudo.
  • Under Registration Time & Blocks, select your registration term.
  • Click on Take Me to Registration Drop/Add.
  • Enter the course and section number(s) into the Drop/Add table and hit ENTER.
    • Please Note: Messages regarding the course you are adding may appear above or below the registration block after you hit enter. Please read the message then hit ENTER again to add the course.
  • When finished with registration, hit “Sign Off.” You’ll be sent to the Payment Calculation Page. Registration is not complete unless payment is submitted.
  • Estimated Billing Worksheet: Print this worksheet or open the link in a separate window to assist you with the registration process.

If a course is full, you may be able to add yourself to the waiting list. For more information click here.

Paper registration for Summer Term requires that you are attending Maryland in the current spring semester or have accepted admission to the University for the upcoming fall semester. If not, then you are not a current student and you must apply. Payment must accompany this form.
